Power of Lifelong Learning

In this article I have outlined the benefits of lifelong learning and why each one of us should adopt the model.

Lifelong learning consists of continuous scholarly activities that persist long after adulthood. Lifelong learning is not bound to be conducted on a certain premise, but under this approach, learning is entirely voluntary. There are no age limitations for this model. In a lifelong learning process, you are not required to mark your 75% attendance in order to be eligible to appear in the exams. It is shifting the Gen Z approach to learning and making them more self-reflective in their learning process, deeming the curriculum learning less meaningful. The shift has reduced the dependency of students towards schools and colleges and has encouraged them to think outside the box to have a successful career. In a lifelong learning process, learning does not necessarily need to end with a bachelor's or a master's degree, nor should it take place to secure a particular job position.

According to Eurostat, the participation of adults in lifelong learning increased to 11% in 2021 in the EU from 9% in 2020, and the number is constantly increasing. The necessity of lifelong learning may seem evident from a professional perspective but it also comprises of private consequences. The research asserts that, as we grow older, our devotion to learning can restrict the potential for memory loss and can also help to prevent diseases related to cognitive disorientation.

The Lifelong learning process has numerous proven benefits.

Skill Development: You can learn Python, Java, and SQL being as a business student, or you can learn AutoCAD as a computer student; you are not confined. Apart from such technical skills, you can also enhance your soft skills, such as communication and problem-solving. Both skills go hand in hand, and the absence of one hinders an individual from performing at their highest potential. A diverse skillset makes your resume unique and compelling in the eyes of a hiring manager.

Discovering New Spectrums: On the path of lifelong learning, it is important to be curious and eager to learn new things. During this journey, you come across new concepts and subjects that you otherwise would have ignored. These uncovered areas end up becoming professional careers in the future.

However, a commitment to sustained learning and continuous improvement can help you remain updated with the ongoing trends.
