#2 Girly Classics: 5 Movies for Team 'I'm Just a Girl'

Part two of girly classics that you should not miss!

If you've read the first blog I have published about Girly Classics, here I am again with another 5 underappreciated picks for you!

Drop Dead Gorgeous(1999)

Can you name a more iconic cast? Yeah, I don't think so either. Starring Amy Adams, Kirsten Dunst, Denise Richards, and Brittany Murphy; we have a small-town beauty pageant gone bad. If you missed 90's unhinged, satirical humor, Drop Dead Gorgeous is a cult classic that you should give a chance.

Heathers(1989)

"Did you have a brain tumor for breakfast?"

"I use my grand IQ to decide what lip gloss to wear in the morning and how to hit three keggers before curfew."

Another razor-sharp satire, another satirical take on high school cliques. Heathers is the mother of Mean Girls and I can vouch for that.

Aquamarine(2006)

An ode to real love, an ode to friendships, an ode to girlhood, and an ode to mermaids... You probably have seen this film as a child but need a trip down memory lane to remember the beauty of it again. I watched this brilliant film last week and I can't get it out of my head how impeccable, how amazing, and how spectacular it is. It's the best movie ever made, I don't care what anybody says today I believe in the superiority of childhood movies.

Mermaids(1990)

Cher as the mother and Christina Ricci/Winona Ryder as the daughters? Yes. A coming-of-age movie told from a teenager's perspective, Mermaids is a film centered around an unconventional mother and her two daughters as they navigate life and its ups and downs. And oh, you already know Winona Ryder's iconic lines in the movie.

D.E.B.S.(2004)

Let's spill the tea here. I tried my best to like action movies, and as a 'cinephile' I can't, I don't, and probably never like action movies. But oh, D.E.B.S, the movie that you are... You made me realize that I should sometimes take a risk get out of my comfort zone, and watch action movies. But here what outstands is the cast. Girl dinner. Girl power.

Sooo, assuming you liked these recommendations, see you in the next five!
