A Short Review About Convenience Food

Do you paint your food? Would you like to add differential poisons to your meal? The eating habits of the people changed rapidly after the Industrial Revolution, the 18th century. The seek for labor had impacted the diet of the society. Since people began to spend more time at work with adjustment to harder conditions, their time became limited, calorie need was changed and the need for the processed food industry was born. The new worldview has built a new habit which includes many convenience foods that have chemical.

What Is Convenience Food?

Convenience food can be described that ready to eat or effortless to prepare. "Convenience food, also called tertiary processed food, is food that is commercially prepared (often through processing) to optimize ease of consumption. Such food is usually ready to eat without further preparation." (Wikipedia, 2022). In the other words, convenience food allows people to fulfill their hunger needs in a short time. This type of food includes too many preservatives, dangerous chemicals, and artificial ingredients. However, society doesn't often use convenience food as a term. Since childhood, people are taught to call the food by their names such as chocolate, chips, beans, leek stew, etc. Convenient food has a big replacement in people's lives.

Should People Stop Go to The Supermarket?

Individuals are running out of time in a globalized world today. They should be fast to catch the time. Therefore, food consumption had big transformations according to technological improvements. Unfortunately, it is not possible to consume convenience food. That is the reason why people should be more aware of what they are eating.

Individuals should read the ingredients and nutrition facts of the food. They need to be aware of the macro nutrition of the food like protein, fats, and carbohydrates. Also, a quick check on the internet by using a mobile phone about the food can be very useful while shopping. Additionally, they can prefer to go to local stores. Healthier products, which have none of the preventive or fewer chemicals, are available in the local places. Seek assistance with the ingredients of the food by the staff members can be helpful.
