Cadillac is joining the F1 grid in 2026

The American brand is set to join Formula 1 with an agreement in principle.

A couple of days ago, Formula 1 announced that they agreed with Cadillac and General Motors for an 11th team in the grid.
This is not breaking news as there were rumors already of an 11th Formula 1 team. Although, the rumors always involved Andretti while the current agreement has little involvement of Andretti in the team.

When the team joins, it's going to be the second American team in the current Formula 1 grid with the Haas F1 Team. Cadillac is also set to become an engine supplier in the upcoming years, most likely in 2028. These plans are strategic for Formula 1's expansion in the United States of America, as Cadillac/GM is planning to represent the USA much more than Haas F1.

Cadillac/GM had already started gathering intel for the 2026 regulations with their involvement in Toyota's F1 facilities, and as their involvement in the grid is almost certain, they're continuing research and development at full speed.

People are predicting Colton Herta as a Cadillac F1 driver, although it's too early to say anything about Cadillac's lineup.

Cadillac is set to pay 450 million dollars for participation in the Formula 1 grid.
