Iconic lyrics remind us of a single name: Mortal Kombat. The legendary fighting game series, which has celebrated its 30th anniversary, continues to make a name for itself. The game, which reset the series today under the name Mortal Kombat 1, changed many known facts. Scorpion and Sub-Zero, the poster boys of the series, got a brand new story. These two arch-enemies are now brothers. Although they belong to an ancient clan known as the Lin Kuei, Scorpion continues to use his fire powers in the clan known for its ice powers. Mortal Kombat tournaments held to preserve the peace of the universe consisting of different realms such as Earthrealm, Outworld, Netherrealm, and Orderrealm maintain their continuity. However, Raiden, who was until now the protector of Earthrealm and the god of thunder, is now just a mortal monk. Liu Kang, the God of Fire and keeper of time in the previous game is also the creator of the new era.

Apart from all of these, there are also obvious changes in the cult characters of the series. Sonya Blade, who has been a part of the team since the first game, does not appear in this game. Johnny Cage is naturally not married to Sonya Blade in this game. But he's still a famous Hollywood star. Shao Kahn, one of the main villains of the series and the leader of the Outworld realm, appears as a war general in this game. Sindel, on the other hand, ruler of the realm of Outworld in the new era. Additionally, Kitana and Mileena, two female ninjas who hate each other, are two sisters who get along well in this game. Shang Tsung, another main enemy of the series, appears as an alchemist, devoid of his magical powers. Although Mortal Kombat 1 has reached 3 million sales since its launch, it has been highly criticized due to its missing content and problematic communication from the creator team. The game is expected to gain momentum again with new content and updates. Unless it meets expectations, the game's lifespan may be shorter than expected.
