Why We Love Anne With An E?

The character of Anne who is an unusual girl, attracted a great deal of attention among many spectators. Anne With An E which is published on Netflix, is a Canadian series based on the book Green of Green Gables, set in the 1800s. 

The main character of the series is thirteen-year-old Anne Shirley Cuthbert, an orphaned girl. Her mother and father died when she was a baby. Anne is a girl who believes wholeheartedly that she has never been loved and cannot be loved. What makes Anne different is her infinite love and unlimited creativity for everything except herself. One day, Anne is adopted by the siblings Mathew and Marilla, who live in Green Gables. The series demonstrates Anne's life between the ages of thirteen and eighteen after arriving at Green Gables.

Anne starts to go to school and realizes that her only difference during the process of getting used to school is not her red hair. What's the other difference? The thoughts are very different from the girls in Anne’s class's dream of the future. So that sometimes they do not even understand the sentences that Anne establishes. She reads so many books that her vocabulary is way better than her friends.

Anne is inspired by all the inspirational women she can find. Their teacher, Muriel Stacy, Aunt Josephine, Jane Eyre. She is so impressed with the lines written by Jane Eyre! If we consider that we were watching the end of the 1800s, the traces of the Victorian era, things were not as they are today: Girls have only one task, to be good wives in the future.

I can say that the Anne character made me think a lot when I was watching. There is a girl who has not had a pleasant life until the age of 13, who has faced various difficulties. Anne is a child with an incredible imagination, full of joy, able to talk with everything alive and inanimate, and able to make friends. At this point, a girl who has experienced so many negative things can be so cheerful without asking.

Anne deals with many difficulties and must give us strength. Because despite everything, there are ways to walk in rough places. Anne With An E is a series of very great lessons given to all women and even against all inequalities. It should be watched without discussion.

Anne, who has accompanied our lives throughout all the episodes, perhaps makes us love ourselves and our immediate lives more. I wish we all could have passed by someone like Anne Shirley Cuthbert. I wish we were all Anne Shirley Cuthbert!
