LP: Laura Pergolizzi

The next person on my list of my favorite artists is American singer and songwriter LP. We all got the chance to know LP thanks to their song Lost On You that came out in 2015. But there is so much to know about them and their music.

LP’s music career started in 1998 at the age of 17, when they were featured on Gentleman’s Blues. However, their debut album Heart-Shaped Scar was released a few years later in 2001. And their second album titled Suburban Sprawl & Alcohol came out 3 years later in 2004. Unfortunately, they couldn’t get recognized with these albums.

After years of making music and signing and dropping labels, in 2007 they wrote the song called Love Will Keep You Up All Night for Backstreet Boys. During the following years, LP wrote many songs for other artists including Rihanna.

In 2012, LP released their third album and in 2015, they released their fourth album Lost on You, which also included the song Lost on You, which was a huge success. Another song called Muddy Waters from the same album was featured in popular tv series Orange Is the New Black and other shows called Shades of Blue and Starz Power.

After Lost on You, LP released 3 more studio albums in the following years until 2023.
