Poetry and William Wordsworth

A writer who launched the movement of Romanticism.

An English great poet of Romanticism who had amazing poems about love, nature, and emotions. Lived in England from 1770 to 1850, and helped launch the Romantic movement. He and Samuel Taylor Coleridge managed to declare the movement of Romanticism with a work called Lyrical Ballads. We should be aware that because the Western world was industrializing and people were becoming lonelier before Romanticism, the movement changed it. After the movement, poems which have affected people's thoughts and their souls were created more and more. So, after they published the work, the Romanticism movement officially launched and presented.

After brief information about Wordsworth, l should say that l feel lucky to come across him at university. When l saw and read his poem for the first time, l loved it. The first poem l read was" l wandered lonely as a cloud " l do not know the reason why l loved this poem but whenever l read this poem l feel a lot of emotion in my heart.

Now l want to write his poem which l like most and it is Daffodils but l will not write the whole poem, l will just be focusing on the stanzas that affected me so much and l want to share my views on this poem overall.

l Wandered Lonely as a Cloud

I wandered lonely as a cloud

That floats on high o’er vales and hills,

When all at once I saw a crowd,

A host, of golden daffodils;

Beside the lake, beneath the trees,

Fluttering and dancing in the breeze

The similes that he used, the beauty of his descriptions about nature, and his great power of words... They are unbelievable. We can comprehend how aesthetically and accurately he puts the words and creates amazing sentences. He shows us the power of nature and emotions. Look how he describes the loneliness of a human being by using a cloud which is a connection to nature. Daffodils which are mostly lonely and separated flowers can be a representation of a human being who stays alone in the world.

My Heart Leaps up When I Behold

My heart leaps up when I behold

A rainbow in the sky:

So was it when my life began;

So is it now I am a man;

So be it when I shall grow old,

Or let me die!

The Child is the father of the Man;

And I could wish my days to be

Bound each to each by natural piety.

This is a different amazing and emotional poem of Wordsworth. We can see the details of nature by looking at those words such as sky and rainbow and rainbow seems like a representation of youths of human beings and the improvement of them. That is like describing human life from the beginning to the end.

l am so sure that everyone can find a piece of themselves when they read a poem by William Wordsworth. Almost all of his poems are great but l cannot share all so here are the names of his other great poems:
