The Rottenburg Cannibal

Let's take a look at a glimpse of 21st century cannibalism.

In March 2001, a computer repair technician called Armin Meiwes posted on a previously active website named The Cannibal Cafe, a website where people with cannibalism fetishes interact with one another. Meiwes was looking for something to eat, rather someone to eat. He specifically wrote on the post "looking for a normally-built 18- to 25-year-old to be slaughtered and then consumed.". A number of people responded to Meiwes but they didn't have the courage to meet him in person or, more specifically, to be eaten. Bernd Jürgen Armando Brandes who was a 43-year-old engineer had the courage.

On 9 March 2001 Meiwes and Brandes met in Meiwes's home and the two of them made a videotape of the incident. The videotape shows the two of them attempting to eat Brandes' sexual organ, Brandes tried to eat his raw flesh but the tape shows that he couldn't. According to multiple sources. the idea of being eaten gave Brandes a sexual charge. It is said that Brandes couldn't eat his own flesh because it was too hard and he was starting to get weak because of the blood loss. Meiwes was arrested in December 2002 and the police found the videotape and human flesh in his house. This horrific incident gave inspiration to many movies and a particular song called Mein Teil by Rammstein.
