Why does one always criticize others?
The reasons behind criticism.
A person who is constantly critical is someone who judges others' behavior, opinions, choices, or personalities negatively and expresses it. Such people often criticize to feel superior, to belittle others, to hide their own shortcomings, or to attract attention. There are various psychological reasons behind a person who constantly criticizes. In fact, they have negative feelings about themselves and feel inadequate. They try to measure their own worth through the eyes of others and try to feel better about themselves by criticizing others. This is a defense mechanism. However, this behavior further diminishes their self-confidence and destroys their relationships with others. During childhood or adolescence, they may have been constantly criticized, judged, rejected, or humiliated by family, friends, teachers, or significant others. These experiences may lead this person to believe that criticism is a normal and acceptable form of communication. By criticizing others, this person may be trying to protect themselves, express themselves, or connect with others.
A person who constantly criticizes should get to know themselves and others better, express their feelings and needs more healthily, try to understand others' points of view, and learn to make positive comments instead of criticizing. Interfering in someone else's life in this way is a violation of personal rights.
In an age of widespread use of social media, comments are made that are more hurtful and full of hate speech than negative comments. Criticism is something that should be done for the good of the other person. We need to put forward constructive criticism instead of destructive. Hoping for the good days to come when we will achieve this.
