Tomie is a manga that is written and illustrated by Junji Ito. It is about a mysterious, beautiful woman named Tomie Kawakami. She is identified by her beautiful, long, black hair and a beauty mark below her eye.

Tomie has an evil power that makes any man fall in love with her. She is a kind of a succubus in the plot. She slowly manipulates men and drives them into jealous, brutal acts of violence. As for brutal acts, it is about how men kill each other over her. Moreover, she drives not only men but also women to insanity. However, there are also people who can resist her. Only a few.

Besides, Tomie has another vicious ability to make her regenerate. Every chapter has various characters that encounter Tomie and no matter how many times she is killed by those men, she is capable of being reborn again. Besides, the way men kill Tomie is not simple either. They disintegrate her but she can recover quickly from every kind of mortal wound. Aside from recovering quickly, she can also replicate herself from any severed part of her body.

Another ability she has is that Tomie possesses cells capable of transforming a victim into a Tomie through an organ transplant. It makes it possible for Tomie’s copies to exist everywhere. Even when a tiny part of Tomie enters the victims’ brains, she possesses and kills them.

Her origins are never explained, though it is suggested by some older men in the series that she existed long before the events of the manga.

I know it is scary but since it is just a manga, it becomes more tolerable. So, I recommend it for horror lovers! It can be a nice option to read during the Halloween season.
