Advertising

In this blog, I am handling the advertising debate.

Advertising, which refers to influencing humans by presenting colorful, attractive, and imaginary life has a great deal of power over us. Producers, who aim to receive consumers’ attention, likely trust the power of advertisement and don’t hesitate to give commercials on Television and this kind of media tool even if they need to spend a huge amount of money. However, there exists noteworthy controversy over if advertising serves a useful purpose or just manipulates the public. It seems to me that advertisement sometimes is misused by commercial companies which have bad intentions to deceive us about a product; notwithstanding benefits which are ensured by advertising are much more than their drawbacks.

The first useful feature of advertisements is to provide us with beneficial and updated information. People in the low or mid-class want to be aware of discounts and occasions for companies to spend less, and thanks to commercials, they don’t miss the discount periods.

Secondly, advertising is actually a huge sector, which creates employment opportunities for thousands of people. It not only presents employment opportunities for advertising itself but also from the clothing industry to media outlets, so many sectors have benefited from the power of advertising. Because a major part of media outlets and the textile sector’s incomes are generated by advertisements, if the advertising sector were collapsed, most sectors such as media and textile would be affected negatively.

For those who are against that commercials are shown via media tools or billboards assert that the public is manipulated by advertising because of the fact that it leads customers to be cheated by exaggerating product qualities and pretending to make discounts. Yet, it is true that advertising is a business sector and thus it includes cheaters just like every sector; consequently, it can’t be blamed for a group of cheaters and their evil attitudes.

In conclusion, Unfortunately, displaying advertisements creates conflicts among the public. These debates stem from crafty humans indeed. I believe that if we all can detect these types of persons and eradicate them, those who work properly can produce more qualified works; as a result, we can take further advantage of occasions which are indicated through advertisements.
