The third stop on my “Introducing My Favourite Artists“ series is BTS, and before we continue, I would like you to leave any slightly negative thoughts you have aside for the next few minutes.

If you are ready, we can get started. Let’s get to know BTS, first: Who are they? What do they do? Why are they so popular and loved around the world?

The first thing you should know about them is the fact that they are a Korean music group which consist of seven members in total, who are incredibly, musically gifted. The group came together in 2013 and ever since then, they have been active in the music industry in and outside of South Korea. Currently though, six members of the group are fulfilling their mandatory military duty, so it can be said that their joint group activities are on hold until next year, when all the members will have returned.

The second thing you should know about them is the wide range of their discography. From hip-hop to pop, indie to rock, they have released songs in a variety of genres. Their first album, 2 Cool 4 Skool, was a hip-hop album, whereas some of their ensuing albums’ genres were mainly pop alongside with hip-hop.

Three members of the group, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok and Kim Namjoon are the rappers, whereas the remaining members, Kim Taehyung, Kim Seokjin, Park Jimin and Jeon Jungkook are responsible for the vocals of their songs. All the members are multi-talented musicians and they all write and compose their music and, of course, they all dance!

In addition to their group activities, the members have their solo works released as well. In their solo works, their music style can be clearly observed.

Their songs are generally about mental health, self-love, and finding yourself throughout your life. They openly promote mental well-being and the importance of loving yourself despite everything, which is one of the reasons why they are so loved by people. They encourage people to accept themselves and be more understanding towards other people.

Of course, their good-looking visuals can also be another reason for their fame amongst young people, especially teenagers, but this is just the cherry on top.

Believe me, I know: That’s a lot of songs! But, they are amazing musicians, so it’s really hard to choose a perfect one to recommend. All of them are immaculate! If you get more interested in them after listening to this list, then you should definitely check out their solo works and other singles and albums as a band as well. Just don’t forget to look for the translations of the lyrics and watch the music videos, since they are also spectacular.
