Letters: the most sincere way of communication

Writing letters is the most sincere way of communication, have you ever written letters?

In our daily life, we find ourselves in the middle of texting, typing, or writing emotions, to-do lists, market/shopping lists, and so on. But we never think about writing letters to our loved ones anymore. I think that the reason behind that is the way of living is changed, life is much more fast-paced and we always try to save time on things. And as we do not need to write letters, we became lazy. But, in this article, I am not going to focus on the reasons. I would like to explain why we should go back to writing letters, and why they are still useful. I should state that I believe that letters are the most sincere way of communication.

First of all, writing down your emotions on paper takes a lot of time and consideration. You pick each word that you're going to say, you try to express your feelings in the most logical but also the most honest way. It is impossible to communicate as effectively when you're texting with a person, because when you rush expressing yourself, you may say words that may lead the other person to misunderstand you. However, when it comes to letters, we spare time for them, and we put the most effort into them to make them pretty, poetic, and sincere. I believe that letters are crucial when we want to say we are sorry when we are inviting people to an important event.

Secondarily, when you give people hand-written letters, you also focus on your handwriting too, which makes you to worry about the aesthetics of the paper as well. So, not only it sound beautiful to those who read the letters, but it also looks beautiful. Therefore, aesthetic concern helps you to focus on being careful when writing your letters.

Lastly, if you compare the person who receives a letter and a text message, the person who receives a letter would feel much more appreciated because anyone can tell that letters take much more time and effort than text messages. Text messages may look sloppy, effortless, fast, and full of typos. But, when it comes to letters, it's not possible to make typos, you can only have punctuation mistakes. But, the letters are always written with the maximum attention, leaving no space for such mistakes.

Finally, I can say that we should go back to writing letters to our loved ones, to make them feel appreciated, and not become lazy to text them all the time. Yes, it is true that writing letters are a slow process, but it's also important to know that something fast does not mean it's the best thing. Sometimes, good things take time. Therefore, I believe that we should stop being lazy, be more patient and wait to receive our letters, and also spend enough time putting effort into our thoughts.
