Elisa y Marcela(2019)

Directed by Isabel Coixet, Elisa y Marcela is based on a real-life story of two women who were deeply in love with each other to the point of making history by marrying as the first same-sex couple in 1901. Throughout the movie you can't help but reflect on how love is such a pure and strong force to transcend societal norms and pressures. Despite the obstacles they face, Elisa and Marcela's love remains enduring and strong.

Carol(2015)

Directed by Todd Haynes, Carol tells the story of a tender romance between two women who are dealing with their own problems in their lives yet finding comfort and a sense of home in each other's souls. Fighting against societal pressures, Carol explores themes of love, gender norms, social expectations and desire.

Tomboy(2011)

 Directed by Céline Sciamma, the story delves into a 10-year-old child beginning to present themself as a boy named Mikael and experiencing their gender identity and self-discovery. It's tender, innocent, bittersweet and real.

A Single Man (2009)

Directed by Tom Ford, the plot delves into a grief-stricken professor who recently lost his lover in a car accident. Throughout the movie, the protagonist struggles with grief, loneliness and his identity as a gay man and a professor in the 60's.
