The art of gratification is something a lot of people have taken on to be grateful for the things in life. What does it gives you in return? Nothing but pure form of happiness and satisfication.

Why do we have to be grateful for things? We are often too busy to be grateful for things that we have. Sometimes, we are not aware of how grateful we should be for having basic necessities in life.  

Being grateful is a value that we are taught when we were little. We are taught these values so we carry and apply these values in our life; but somehow, in our busy schedule, we often forget we should be grateful for things. It doesn’t have to be big like a car, house and so on. It could be small too like a blanket, pen and so on. 

When we practice gratitude in life, we not only value the things we have. We also understand the need for that thing. We all often buy things from different stores. It could be food, grocery, clothes or stationery. We use these things in our daily life and never understand that we are privileged to have them with us. 

How to learn the Art of Gratification ?

Practicing gratitude will bring you the joy to be thankful for the smallest things. It brings awareness that you are so privileged to have these daily necessities in your life. There are few ways to be grateful for things that you have.

1- You can write at least 3 things that you are grateful for. It can be as vague or specific as possible. Just writing 3 things you are grateful for; will never take much of your time. It can be done easily and without taking much of your time.

2- You can donate some money to NGOs or charity. You can also donate your old clothes to the needy and help them in this way. This is also a way of showing gratitude in life. 

3- Spending time with your loved ones or favorite person. This is a way to show gratitude towards them. It can easily be done by contacting them over call or meeting up at a cafe. This will not only make them feel better but also to yourself. 

4- Being grateful for one's own being is also important. You are a precious being so give yourself those grateful words too. You need as much as you give others. You can be grateful by being treating yourself to your favorite snack or giving yourself a good nap.

Gratefulness will not only improve your emotional but also mental stability. It can open you to mindfulness. Practice of gratitude will bring inner peace within oneself. We all are tangled in our busy life but doing this small gesture of gratitude will make life a little bit happier for you. One can only understand the true meaning of gratitude practising it.
