What Is The Essence of 'Existence'?

“No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world.”

Do we all live in the moment? Do we all live life accurately? Do we realize what is happening around us every day? Do we realize the things we do everyday? Do we know what our real dreams are? Do we pursue them? Do we believe them?

Are we aware of our own existence in this life?

Existence have become just a word that we know the meaning of etymologically. According to the Oxford Dictionary, it means; ''the state or fact of being real or living or of being present''. 'Fact of being real or being present' is actually such a strong phrase because, these days, most of us are neither real nor in the present. We live in a world of money, power, social media, and common standarts in every part of life. Back then, parents used to force their children to be doctors, lawyers, or teachers so that they could have a well-off and wealthy life. Most of them gave up their real dreams to earn more money and to live a more comfortable life. Yes, a good job is important for a good life, like John Keating said in Dead Poets Society:

"...medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life."

and he continues:

"...But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for."

When I watched this movie for the first time, I was so young, but I remember I felt something sparkling in my heart and soul. I did not compherend the whole meaning of these words at that time, so I started to forget that spark was still inside me. Now, with the awareness of what is really important in my life, I am able to see that beautiful spark finally, and follow it happily.

Our days is full of so called lives on Internet, and every day we compare ourselves with those lives. 'I want to be a doctor.' has turned into 'I want to be an influencer and make easy money.' It suddenly became the dream of many without knowing if we truly want this, because that's how the world works now. We have lost our identities, our passions, our romance, our souls into the pages of Internet. We no longer remember what are the things we stay alive for. Existence has become an abstarct presence, even though we are physically, spiritually, and mentally here, in life.

We do not know how to live in the moment. We do not see what is happening around us while we are walking in the street, in school, at work, on the bus -- anywhere. We do not see life as it is. We have forgotten how to feed our souls with beauty of life, poetry, romance, love, goodness, music, and real communications with the people we love. We have forgotten how to pursue real happiness in life and realize our real existence in it.

Read, listen, see, watch, learn, think, talk because when you do all these things, you will learn what real life is outside of the little screens and the lives of others.

I am not saying you should not have a good job, go and get it, of course! But I am saying that you should remember what are you living for. I am saying remember to feed your soul, your heart, your mind, and your presence in this world. Mess it up, clean it up, read poetry and novels, listen to good music, listen others, listen yourself, watch nice movies, have meaningful conversations, make yourself think, make a terrible painting but enjoy it, take pictures of the things you love, be aware of your surroundings, make yourself feel alive, and be real ---be here.

I do not usually write things like this; I usually prefers research compositions. But in my last writing here, I wanted to share a speacial moment with all of you. I wanted to remind you to love your life, love your soul, love your presence, and love yourself. Thank you for reading, my very first dear readers.
