With the upcoming Netflix mini-series about Ayrton Senna, the Brazilian 3-time world champion, and the upcoming F1 movie starring Brad Pitt and Lewis Hamilton, I believe it would be good to mention the series and movies that were made about Formula 1.

1 — Senna (2010) - IMDb: 8.5/10

The documentary 'Senna' allows us to learn and explore the life and the tragic death of Ayrton Senna.

2 — Rush (2013) - IMDb: 8.1/10

Rush is about the rivalry between James Hunt and Niki Lauda, two fierce rivals that competed in the 1970s. I believe it's one of the must-watches of Formula 1 movies.

3 — Ferrari (2023) - IMDb: 6.7/10

Ferrari is a biographical movie that revolves around Enzo Ferrari, the founder of the legendary Italian brand.

4 — Schumacher (2021) - IMDb: 7.4/10

The Schumacher documentary gives us insight into the life, and the highs and lows of the 7-time world champion Red Baron, Michael Schumacher.

5 — Drive to Survive (2019 - now) - IMDb: 8.5/10

Drive to Survive is the official documentary/series of Formula 1, released on Netflix. It provides us with behind-the-scenes access to the drivers and the teams, changing our perspective around the drama that dwells around the paddock.

6 — Senna (2024) - Premiers 29th of November, 2024.

The upcoming mini-series about the Brazilian legend Ayrton Senna. It will be released on Netflix, on the 29th of November this year.

7 — F1 (2025) - Premiers 27th of June, 2025.

The upcoming movie which stars Brad Pitt and the 7-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, will include a fictional Formula 1 team named APXGP.

It will be a half-fiction sports action drama movie about the racing driver Sonny Hayes, who suffered a horrible crash in the 1990s and retired from racing.

Special Mention: Ford v Ferrari (2019) - IMDb: 8.1/10

Although it is not Formula 1 related, this movie is one of the must-watches if you are passionate about car racing. Christian Bale and Matt Damon are featured in the movie.

The movie revolves around the rivalry between the two car brands Ford and Ferrari, who competed together in the 1960s in LeMans.
