Forrest Gump: A Comedy-Drama Movie

"Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you get."

Forrest Gump is a movie based on a 1986 novel by Winston Groom of the same name and the film aired in 1994. Forrest Gump's story is a nice story to be a witness of a man whose life changes completely but the audience is the one to decide if this change is for the good or the bad. This movie also shows the historical events taking place when Forrest tells his life. For these reasons, the movie should be watched!

When he was a child, Forrest Gump had difficulty walking but one day, miraculously, while he was running away from some kids, with the encouragement of Jenny, his best friend, he managed to run. Forrest Gump has a below-average IQ of 75, which makes it easier for him to focus on something and to be successful in this thing. In this case, Forrest Gump succeeds in table tennis and military service and thus has won many awards.

Briefly, I want to touch upon the relationship between Forrest and his mother. His mother never underestimates his son but always encourages him to do his best in life. One important thing she says is “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.” And in Forrest's case, life gives him really good things, for example, the shrimp business turns out to be a huge success along with other things he has accomplished.

One of the important things in this movie is that Gump tells of important events taking place thanks to his experiences in the 20th century US. He mentions the Ku Klux Klan and Governor George Wallace's attempt to prevent students Jimmy Hood and Vivian Malone from entering the University of Alabama. Additionally, the movie shows most of the presidents in contact with Forrest Gump.

Last but not least Forrest Gump runs for three years, two months, fourteen days, and sixteen hours. His running can be considered an escape from the past. After this point in Forrest Gump, things turn out to be good for Forrest Gump.

In the movie, other things are waiting to be discovered by you, including the relationship between Jenny and Forrest. That's all from me about Forrest Gump.
