Loss of Biodiversity

Where are they? What happened to them and why?

Biodiversity can be defined as the variety of life on earth. In today's world, lots of species are faced with the problem of extinction, which can lead to the loss of biodiversity and threatens our world in many ways. Before it is too late, here are some steps to prevent it.

Most endangered species got in danger because of climate change caused by humans' extreme use of harmful gases. Climate change causes temperature changes all around the globe such as overheating and overcooling. As a result of that, many species' enzymes deteriorate and it becomes very hard for them to survive. Also overheating causes the melting of icebergs and it raises the sea level. Due to that, lots of coastal areas and all the species which live there, plants, animals, and insects become submerged. Some other species are endangered due to illegal and overhunting. When a species becomes rare, its value on the black market increases. Because of that, some people try to capture those animals and sell them on the black market and this causes their end. Loss of Biodiversity can affect ecosystems and thus the planet's natural order by breaking the food chain that could stir up a chain reaction overall species.

It is significant for governments to unite with NGOs and other countries. They should take action together to slow down or prevent climate change by legislating against the usage of harmful gases, environmental pollution, and illegal hunting. People can also take action such as using bicycles instead of cars, using solar energy and recycling.
