Marlovian Hero

They do all unethical things just to please themselves and bring their doom themselves.

Marlovian heros are created by the legendary Christopher Marlowe who was an university wit, and was appreciated for his knowledge and wisdom in his days. Because of his works, the way he expressed his thoughts, the words he used, he was seen as an enemy of the church, authority and was accepted as a threat. His characters are drawn by ambition, who become winners and losers at the same time. They celebrate something for five mins then they lose everything. Marlovian characters are like Renaissance thoughts, they are experiencing and realizing their power, freedom and their free will as well. With Renaissance, humanity started to realise that they do not have to obey someone’s words to live a rightful and moral life, and they can decide on on their own, without feeling someone’s pressure. Marlowe wrote such characters that reflected the Renaissance energy of free will and ambition. Excessed feelings, excessed moves or behaviours cause harm everywhere since the golden mean is the rightful thing to have and achieve. Doing things that end up with less or more of golden mean does not bring any bright to someone's life. During the Renaissance, the importance of the golden mean was explored and it was seen as a goal to be achieved. Marlowe's characters reflect the opposite of what is accepted as golden mean and its outcomes.

Doctor Faustus, in the world that is not explored and explained much, knows most of the things that are available to humanity, yet he still wants more and go beyond the knowledge that is explored. He sells his soul to the devil, makes a deal, to learn everything, go beyond the unknown part. Even though he is aware of the fact that he cant take back what he did, even though an angel comes all the way to warn him, he still does not mind the possible harm and the judgement time.

Tamburlaine, wants to conquer the whole world after he reigns, wins wars and lands. He does not speak like a human being but like a celestial hero who reveals his words as some oracle. He demands all the world to bend to his will. He wants to go beyond what he has already gained, already achieved because this is what an overreacher wants. he wants more of everything.

The Duke of Guise shows up at the stage to get rid of the protestants, just because he does not want and trust them by using religion as a weapon. He murders men on purpose, for his own good, but then gets murdered. He does what is unethical and pays the cost for it in the end. He cannot get away with what he has caused and done.

Marlowe’s characters are not victims of the fate but are the ones who get to decide on what to do with their life, who have active role in their decisions. They have the desire and enthusiasm to go beyond, transcend what they already have. Characters reach the beyond, but they cant reach what is beyond of death, they cannot beat mortality, they cannot become immortal because they have the power over anthropic side of the world meanwhile they have no idea about the celestial part which shows that they cannot reach what is not available to them, which turns all their victories into defeats. The desire to overreach everything shows their immorality as well. The bloods are shed, the soul is sold just to gain more, to have what is not theirs, what is not meant to be theirs. They do all unethical things just to please themselves and bring their doom themselves.
