Museums around the World: Rijksmuseum

A great museum and the details of it.

An amazing museum where you can find priceless masterpieces in the Netherlands. There are a lot of unique works of art in that museum and also it should be known that it is a national museum of the Netherlands. Work of art, craft, and history is exhibited in that museum. Apart from these masterpieces, there is also an art history library there.

A lot of artworks from amazing artists such as Rembrandt, Vermeer, Frans Hals, and so on... Especially the artworks of Rembrandt are exhibited in that museum.

So let's look at some paintings that are exhibited in the museum and l would like to start with Frans Hals' work which is called"Marriage Portrait of Isaac Massa and Beatrix van der Laen". Firstly, knowing him a little more could be helpful for us. Hals was born in Belgium but lived mostly in Haarlem. He was one of the prolific portrait artists of the 17th century. He improved his talent in the Netherlands and he left us with great paintings. So in this painting, we see a man who is a gran trader of the Netherlands and his wife. They look happy and the mood of the picture is quite pretty, and like some other works of him, this picture also is exhibited in the museum of Rijksmuseum.

One of the other greatest artists from the Netherlands is Rembrandt and he has some works in this museum. Rembrandt was a very well-known artist in his time and actually, he still is. The name of the great piece of art is" Jeremiah Lamenting the Destruction of Jerusalem". As the name suggests, we can comprehend how this old man feels grief and sorrow. We see all the details of his lament with his posture and the sorrowful expression on his face. Moreover, whenever l see this picture, l get very impressed by how realistic that picture looks.

The last greatest artist that l want to emphasize is Johannes Vermeer. Most of us must be heard of his artwork"Girl with a Pearl Earring" at least once in our lives. This painting has a really realistic touch with the details. The focus is on the pearl earring and it seems quite realistic. Also, this picture is seen as the Dutch version of the Mona Lisa. When l look at this piece, and the face of this woman, l feel that there are some mysterious and unique thoughts of her.
