Diet is so important for our health because when you eat healthily, you gain immunity to diseases. However, everyone's body is different so, everyone should eat for their health. Also, you should support your diet with exercise! It is really important for your physical and mental health. I have started to eat healthy food and do exercise for so long. Now, I really feel good and healthy! Also, I have a little bit low sugar glucose. I had my breakfast very well but one hour later, I started to feel like I had never eaten food all my life.

I have a lovely friend who is an intern dietitian, Gözde Özer. I told her my diet problems and I learned so many things about healthy food. In this article, I want to make you know how can you have a good healthy life also. As everyone knows, there are some wrong things are known true about diet. For this reason, I ask some questions to my friend.

Water is so important.

Why water is so important for a healthy life?

Water is vital for living things because it plays a role in every aspect of the functioning of our bodies. Water has an important place in digesting food and converting it into energy. Water helps to remove waste and toxic substances from the body.


How many liters of water should we drink every day and how can we calculate it for ourselves?

Water consumption varies depending on factors such as height, weight, gender, but you need to consume 1 ml of water per calorie we receive during the day. It should not be under 1.5 liters. For example, we can say 8-10 glasses a day with a medium size (250 ml) glass.


How can we gain a habit of drinking water every day?

Having the habit of drinking water is very important for our nutrition and health. To acquire this habit, we can add reminders to our phones. We can take a thermos with us during the day. If we have difficulty drinking water, we can sweeten it with an apple or lemon.


When we should drink coffee during the day?

Coffee consumption should not be as soon as you wake up in the morning or before going to sleep to prevent sleep disorders. We can have a maximum of 400mg of caffeine during the day, and more than that is harmful. This means about 3-4 cups of coffee.
Eating healthy is very important.

"I had breakfast but after 1 hour later, I am hungry again." Why?

Being hungry shortly after eating any meal indicates that our meals are lacking in fiber or have excess carbohydrates. It shows that our meal times or meal choices are not correct or our portions are missing. We should review these situations and listen to the needs of our bodies.


How can we calculate calories we should take daily?

The daily calorie requirement of an individual varies according to the individual's gender, age, activity level, genetic factors, and resting metabolic rate. The calorie that needs to be taken during the day can be calculated by multiplying the basal metabolic rate of the person with the activity coefficient.


Which vegetables have the most protein?

Vegetables that are rich in protein are spinach, asparagus, mustard leaves, broccoli, and collard greens.


Which fruits have the most sugar?

The sugar content of fruits such as grapes, cherries, bananas, and figs is higher than other fruits.


Which kind of food must stay away from eating? Why?

Processed products, high-fat fried foods, canned foods, trans fats, and sugary foods should not be consumed because, in the long run, these foods adversely affect cardiovascular health, cause diseases such as diabetes. They disrupt the hormone balance of our body.

What is cellulite? How can I get rid of this cellulite in my body?

Cellulite occurs as a result of abnormal accumulation of fat cells under our skin. It is not correct to attribute the formation of cellulite to nutrition alone. A sedentary lifestyle, genetic characteristics, hormonal changes, sudden weight loss, or gain can cause cellulite. However, nutrition also affects this. Someone with cellulite complaints should follow a healthy diet and support it with exercise to get rid of them.


What is the connection between diet and sport?

Every dietitian tells their clients that they should carry out diet and exercises together.


"If I eat fruits too much like orange or mandarin for C vitamin, is it still healthy or not?"

Vitamin C is one of the essential vitamins that the body needs, but we should only take what we need because the excess of vitamin C is not stored in our body, we need to take this vitamin daily.


There are so many varieties of cheese. Which cheeses are healthier?

When choosing cheese, we should not prefer cheddar cheese or cheddar cheese types with high-fat content or choose to consume them in a controlled manner. Instead of these, curd cheese or cottage cheese can be preferred. Cottage cheese is one of the cheese types with the highest nutritional value.

Each herbal tea has its benefits and herbal teas can be consumed not exceeding 3 cups a day.


Can you tell us which herbal teas are good for the digestive system?

Teas such as green tea, cherry stalk, apricot, fennel facilitate digestion and regulate the digestive system.


What else should I do to have a good diet?

To eat well, we should pay attention to our daily water consumption and not fall below 1.5 liters. We should remove processed products, bakery products, fried products, trans fats from our lives, and obtain a suitable nutrition program for ourselves. In addition to our appropriate nutrition program, we must definitely exercise.
