A Brief Commentary on Mirai Nikki (Future Diary)
A short summary of Mirai Nikki's plot and my personal opinion about it without spoilers.
Mirai Nikki (Future Diary) is an anime that was adapted from a manga series in 2011. With its interesting plot and characters, it is one of my favorite animes. Its soundtrack and art style also keeps the audience in the mood. Not to mention, Yuno is one of the most well-known yandere in anime.
The anime's plot is roughly about a 14-year-old high school student named Yukiteru and how he survives a game of life and death designed by a Deus Ex Machina (the God of Space and Time). Twelve players whose identities are kept secret try to find and eliminate each other to take Deus' place and become a god. The only thing that aids them in this mission is the diaries with different qualities that were granted to them. Soon, Yuki discovers that his classmate Yuno, who also has a crush on him, is a part of the game too. Combining their powers, they try to stay alive and win the game.
All the chasing, violence, and tempo kept me on my toes while watching. Unpacking the secrets and learning more about the characters as the story progressed was a pleasurable experience.
It is definitely worth watching.
