An Underrated Band - ShamRain

I've seen much-underrated stuff in my life, but in my opinion, this group is the most underrated thing I've ever seen.

ShamRain is a Finnish band formed in 2000 by Janne Jukarainen and Matti Reinola. Current members of the group are Kalle Pyyhtinen, Mikko Kolari, Matti Reinola, Minna Sihvonen and Jukka Laine. Mika Tauriainen is a notable old member of the group, who is currently the vocalist of the 'Entwine'.

The group plays slow, dreamlike music, which also could be categorized as 'atmospheric rock'. Their music is pretty depressive and they are aware of that. On their old website, they wrote "the most common symptoms may include: trembling, dyspnea, heart palpitations, chest pain, sweating, nausea, dizziness, light-headedness, hyperventilation, paresthesias, sensations of choking or smothering or derealization, or the feeling that nothing is real. you may or may not enter. (as you wish)" to describe themselves.

The band was active in the 2000s, and their last album was published back in 2011. Still, the group is not officially dismantled and in 2021, they have released an EP, which are three unreleased songs from their most popular album, 'Goodbye to all that. Their most popular songs are Raindrops, To Leave, and Black November.

On their Facebook account, someone asked if they are still active or not. The band answered: 'No, not in years. Music lives on.'. Their music indeed lives on, even though the band is not widely known. Their music touches many hearts every day, including mine, and they are a cure for many people's sadnesses. To me, they are the most underrated thing I've ever seen, and I am hoping they soon will return with a new album. I would say, there are 'no excuses left to make (I am referring to their song 'To Leave') to make a new album.

Finland has gifted the world with many, many depressive rock bands, but ShamRain is the band which I found myself most among them. Their audience may be small, but they are loyal for sure. I would suggest you give a chance to this band as well, I am sure you will find a part of yourself in it as well.
