Capsule Wardrobe

Trends are temporary, basics are forever complementary.

With the trends coming and leaving the stores at the speed of light, it is quite the hard task to catch up with them, take pleasure in the common aesthetic and throw a whole look every morning while it lasts. But how do we find something to wear every morning without spending too much time, and still look good if that is what we desire? Now, this is a question that has 'capsule wardrobes' as an answer. What are capsule wardrobes? Let's take a short look.

A capsule wardrobe is a selection of interchangeable clothing pieces that complement each other. These are often classic pieces that usually do not go out of style and are mostly composed of neutral colors. A capsule wardrobe allows you to create a variety of different outfits with a small selection of clothes, thus saving you time and money.

Capsule wardrobes can be an answer for everyone who likes leaving the house with a satisfied look on their faces when they look at a mirror. Looking good can be a mood booster for almost everyone, but not everyone might not want to do it with more, or always with something new. While trends can always be used as complementary pieces, it sure is nice to always have something to wear. I'm sure we all can agree with this.

How does one form a capsule wardrobe? To be able to save time in the future, capsule wardrobes need some time investment at first. Going through your wardrobe and seeing what you like to wear regularly, and separating the pieces that you usually do not touch is a good start. Considering your lifestyle and adjusting your clothes according to your needs more than your wants is also a key factor in forming a capsule wardrobe. These two steps help us form our base. Now that we know what works best for us, the only thing that we have left to do is decide on how many pieces of clothing would suit our needs for each section and fill the wardrobe accordingly. While these are the basics, it is also a fact that the only rule of this is doing what works best for us. Living in a diverse world comes with so many different lifestyles and there is never only one form of normal, and it is only the idea that can be a fit for all but not the same practice. Neutral colors are always easier to style with each other, though. :P

As mentioned briefly in some places above, this style of shaping your wardrobe comes with time and money savings for the foreseeable future. A wardrobe adjusted to you and your lifestyle always goes a long way! On a side note, it is also sustainable for the fact that it promotes avoiding fast fashion, which is a wasteful industry as we are all aware.

If you love the feeling of being trendy while always on a budget or just want more options with fewer pieces, 'forevers' of your fashion will always be the calling. Don't be shy, it is also always easier to style your 'now trendy but soon to be forgotten until the trend cycle gets back to them' pants with a white t-shirt!
