Cavetown

We continue the list where I introduce my favorite artists to you with Cavetown. Cavetown, whose actual name is Robin Daniel Skinner, is a 25-year-old singer, songwriter, and producer. He has been an active musician since 2012 when he first started his YouTube channel. His love for music comes from his family, with his professional Baroque flutist and music teacher mother and a musicologist and choir director father.

With his interest in music, he started his YouTube channel and uploaded his first video called “Haunted Lullaby”. He, then, quickly released his first album Everything Is Made of Clouds, when he was only 14 years old. However, his debut single “This Is Home” was released a few years later in 2015 and then a little bit later his first album was too. Cavetown released his second album in 2016 and his third album in 2018. The music genre he sticks to in his albums is mainly indie rock.

Fun fact, if you have been a long-term Tiktok user then you must have heard the song “Prom Dress” by Mxmtoon. Yeah, that song! Cavetown was the producer of the song and it gained over 150 million streams on Spotify. Additionally, Mxmtoon’s debut album was produced by Cavetown as well.

To this day, Cavetown still releases music. He has recently released an EP called Little Vice in February 2024.
