Finland's Rockers - The Rasmus

In the early 2000s, this band became very popular with their hit, but after that, the band was kind of forgotten by the masses. Who are they?

The Rasmus is a Finnish rock band, formed in 1994, by Lauri Ylönen, Pauli Rantasalmi, Eero Heinonen, Jarno Lahti, while they were still at highschool. Current members of the band are, Lauri Ylönen, Eero Heinonen, Aki Hakala, Emilia "Emppu" Suhonen.

They identify their music as fun and energetic, but they claim every lyric carries a piece from their life. In 2003, they became very popular with their hit 'In the Shadows', and they won many awards with it.

Despite being very popular at some point, they are kind of forgotten by the masses, and their other songs are mostly unknown. In my opinion, some of their songs are much more beautiful than 'In the Shadows', and I discovered this group with another song of theirs. Therefore, I don't think they deserve to be a one-hit-wonder.

In the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, the band represented Finland with their song, 'Jezebel', so these days group is known a little more. They've contested in Grand Final, where they scored 36. Their song 'Jezebel' has been described as having "infectious hooks, a rock edge, and the noughties nostalgia", and could do well - but it has a darker side too.

Some of their favorite songs of mine are: 'Livin' in a World Without You', 'October & April', 'Sail Away. I highly encourage you to give a chance to this beautiful group from Finland, who also gave concerts in Turkey, in 2004 and 2009.
