The Best Indie Game: Undertale
A cute indie game that makes you feel everything!
Undertale is a visually spectacular, retro 8-bit style 2D role-playing video game that was created by an American indie developer called Toby Fox in 2015. Undertale's simple game mechanism and its rich story offer the player an unforgettable experience. It is most likely that what is most enchanting about this game is its story.
The game begins by telling the tale of what separated the world of monsters and humans. For a while, the two races rule over the earth together, but then a war breaks out. After the devastating war between humans and monsters ends, defeated monsters retreat and they are cast away to the underground. When the brief history lesson finishes, the players encounter the game screen where they need to pick their names to proceed with the game. In the game, the players control a child who happens to be fallen into the underground, the lands of monsters. Throughout the journey in the underground, the player encounters several monsters. The player can choose to fight with the monsters, or they can try to talk with the monsters to end the fight peacefully, or they can try to flee from the fight. When you encounter a monster, a screen will pop up and it will show you your health points, your ''level'', the ''fight'' button, the ''act'' button where you can choose to insult, flirt, and basically interact with the monster, the ''item'' button where you can eat something to earn health points or equip armor/weapon, and finally, the ''mercy'' button where you can try to spare the monster if its health is low or you managed to convinced monster not to fight, or you can try to flee. The leveling system in this game is quite different. Gaining experience in this game is not considered to be a good thing to do like the so-called level in this game ''LV'' stands for the level of violence. So it's not a way of measuring the player's experience but it is a way of measuring the player's capacity to hurt.
It is accepted that the game has two proper endings. The True Pacifist ending where you don't kill any monster in any case, and the Genocide ending where you kill all the main characters in the game and ruin everything for every monster. Yet, it is said that the game has several neutral endings, making 93 endings in total.
